Not all molds are created equal:
There are many different mold species, each of which has a unique look. Most molds have visible spores that can appear as fine, white dust, making them easier to identify. However, the color of the mold can vary depending on the species and where it grows.

Abundant Food Source: Wood sheathing in attics provides an excellent food source for mold.

Detailed process of Mold Remediation:
1. Finding the source and underlying cause.

2. Chemical Treatment and Physical Removal of mold.
The best treatment is to get the mold removed as soon as possible by a certified professional who can detect the source of the mold problem. Once the source is identified, our mold remediation specialists use a combination of tools and techniques for attic mold removal.
These include:
Mold killing chemicals. Our professional mold remediators follow industry guidelines when removing attic mold. The most common type of remediation is chemical based. It is highly effective and uses powerful cleaning agents to kill the mold on contact.
Treatment and Scrubbing: Roof decking and contaminated surfaces are sprayed with a highly concentrated cleaning agent that kills the mold spores on contact, penetrates the decking, and allows the surfaces to dry mold free and looking like new. If the mold is particularly invasive, physical removal of mold from surfaces using brushes, scrubbers, or other cleaning tools will be utilized.
Antimicrobial Treatments: After the mold is removed an antimicrobial is sprayed throughout the attic with a fogger. This covers the attic with a powerful antifungal sealer that will kill any residual spores and prevent the mold from growing back.
Removal of Contaminated Materials: In extreme cases contaminated materials may need to be removed. When necessary, mold-infested materials will be safely removed and disposed of to prevent further spread of mold.
